July 8, 2025 | Haryana, India — Indian renewable energy major ACME Solar Holdings has placed orders totaling over 3.1 GWh worth of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment with two leading Chinese system integrators: Trina Storage and Narada Power.

According to industry sources, Trina obtained approximately 1.7 GWh, while Narada secured around 1.4 GWh of the total order. The systems will be delivered in phased shipments over the next four to eight months, with commissioning scheduled to take place between 12 and 18 months from now under India’s Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) initiatives across multiple states.

This deal is reported to be one of the largest battery storage procurements in India to date, and underscores ACME Solar’s ongoing strategy to strengthen grid resilience and accelerate clean energy deployment. The equipment is compliant with global safety and performance standards, including the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

Market reaction was positive: following the announcement on July 7, ACME Solar’s shares saw an intraday rise of over 6 %, as investors welcomed the news of early procurement aimed at boosting capex efficiency and timely revenue realization.

Analysts emphasize that the procurement gives Chinese storage technology providers a strong foothold in South Asia’s growing clean energy sector, and signals a broader breakthrough in scaled solar-plus-storage (“PV + storage”) solutions in tropical power grids.

Overall, ACME Solar’s latest move—backed by reputable Chinese technology—marks a substantial step toward realizing its ambitious 6.97 GW renewables and storage portfolio, reinforcing its position as a major player in India’s energy transition
